Mason Earns First Team All American
Finishes Career 3rd in Scoring

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Northern Kentucky University's Amanda Mason earned consenus All-America honors with a first-team selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the organization announced this week.

Mason was also named first-team All-America by Daktronics earlier this fall.

Mason, a senior midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio, was the lynchpin of the Norse offense, scoring 15 goals and adding 13 assists for a total of 43 points to lead the team and the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Her offensive output also ranks her in the top 10 nationally in points per game (2.26) and assists per game (0.68).

Her exploits led the Norse to a 16-2-2 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Midwest Region championship game for the second time in three years.

Mason was also honored as the GLVC Offensive Player of the Year and the Daktronics Midwest Region Player of the Year. She earned first-team nods on the All-GLVC and All-Region teams and was twice named the GLVC Player of the Week during the 2011 season.

She finishes her career ranking second all-time at NKU with 49 goals and third all-time in assists (37) and points (135).

Next fall, the Norse will compete as NCAA Division I members of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
