Huge Congratulations to Emilia Geren (04G ECNL) and Katie Cummings (05G ECNL) for being selected to the ECNL National Camp in Portland, Oregon!! We are extremely proud of both of them!!
The ECNL National Training Camp will host approximately 90 youth players born in 2004, 2005 and 2006 to be held July 26-30, 2019. These players will have the opportunity to play with and against the best athletes in the country (in their respective age groups) and to learn from a staff of some of the country’s top youth coaches.
The 2019 ECNL National Training Camp is a joint effort between the ECNL, U.S. Club Soccer’s id2 National Player Identification and Development Program and Nike. The camp is open to all players regardless of U.S. Soccer affiliation, or lack thereof, and is sanctioned as an Olympic Development Program by US Soccer and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
Emilia is primarily a central midfielder, but has the versatility to impact the game as a center defender as well.
"Emilia is a proven leader and an integral part of this season's improvement of our 2004G ECNL Team. Her selection to the ECNL National Training Camp is well deserved and a testament to the hard work, talent, and positive energy that Emilia brings to the game."
-Doug Bracken, 2004G ECNL Head Coach.
Katie Cummings was the leading scorer on the 2005G ECNL Team, a team that narrowly missed a birth to the ECNL Playoffs and finished with the clubs overall best record. Her scoring ability, 1v1 attacking, and ability to see the field make her extremely tough for opponents to deal with.
"Katie is truly a game changer. At any moment she has the talent and ability to score, create a chance for a teammate, and/or dictate the tempo of the game."
- Tim Lesiak, 2005G Head Coach
