The Futures Program, formally known as the Youth Development Program (YDA), will offer professional and parent coach options for the entry level and young players.

"We feel our professional staff is the strongest in the area and we want to use these talents to grow the game.  Our new model will be able to reach more players at an earlier age," stated Tim Lesiak, Executive Director.  "Ohio Elite has proven since it's inception in 2002 that we are first and foremost about the development of players.  Our Futures Program creates an opportunity for parents to coach while offering them a strong foundation in player development and continued education."

Professional Coach Track - Ohio Elite will continue to offer the Academy program with professional coaching for all training and games.

  • An Ohio Elite professional coach will train and coach players at games.
  • All training will be held at Ohio Elite's first class facilities.
  • Age appropriate individual & team training and development.
  • 2 times a week training
  • Fall & Spring seasons
  • No parent involvement
  • Games in the Elite Players League (EPL), Greater Cincinnati Soccer League (GCSL), and/or Buckeye Premier League (BPYSL).

Over the last few years, more parents than ever have a strong background in soccer.  Many have played in youth or high school with several having experience in higher levels and coaching.

Parent Coach Track - New to Ohio Elite, we will offer parent coach teams from U6 (2012) up through U10 (2009) age groups.  Teams will be coached by a parent who will receive the OESA Youth Coaching Diploma.

  • Ohio Elite Coaching Director will oversee teams and will train teams on occasion.
  • Age appropriate individual & team training and development.
  • Train and play at Ohio Elite's top notch facilities.
  • Games in the Elite Players League (EPL) and Greater Cincinnati Soccer League (GCSL).

"Our goal has always been to provide players with the best development possible," said Scott Wheeler, Futures Director. "By educating parents to be stronger coaches, we are able to reach more young athletes. We feel that through education and development of coaches the game grows."

All coaches, parent and professional, will be required to attain the OESA Youth Coaching Diploma and attend coaching education throughout the season.
